| Supplementary Learning Support |

Wellsford School hosts two Supplementary Learning Support Teachers (SLST), one full time and one part time. SLST's are itinerant teachers who travel around local schools supporting the teaching and learning of students with literacy and numeracy learning needs.
A committee, made up of representatives from contributing Principal's, SLST's, RTLB's, and the MOE-Special Education receive applications made on behalf of students who meet the national criteria. They consider the applications to determine if students would benefit from the service. The committee then prioritise which students receive the support first, based on the severity of need.
Students are supported with one on one teaching with the SLST, and the classroom teacher and/or teacher-aide is supported with resources and lesson ideas. The SLST liaise closely with the student's family's and assist with inter-agency supports, specialist testing and educational transitions.
